April 25: On Creating One's Own Ideology... Rewriting One's Own Values

Decades ago, C. S. Lewis penned this somber warning:

"The diseases that will certainly end our species… if it is not crushed, (is) the fatal superstition that men can create values; that a community can choose its 'ideology' as men choose their clothes."

We as a nation have done exactly what C. S. Lewis warned against. Reminiscent, is it not, of Israel's condition in her depravation:

"In those days there was no king in Israel; all the people did what was right in their own eyes." (Judges 17:6)

And as a result, America today is facing a crisis of values of monumental proportions. Some observers are terming it a "Civil War" of values.

Tragically, this deterioration of values has profoundly impacted your lost associates: Most of them sense that there is something terribly wrong in the Land. But because they are generally lacking in a Biblical perspective, they have scant idea how we as a People got to this point, much less how they can personally escape from it.

Let me ask you a question: "As a believer in Christ, are you also writing and embracing your own brand of "Christian" valuesyour own ideology, that conveniently accommodates your quest for personal freedom?"

If the answer is "yes," then your lost friends are being deprived of observing in you two important realities that a life of obedience to Christ would have revealed:

(1) The magnitude of their lostness, and

(2) The fact that there is a way out of their life of bondage.

In this age of disintegrating values, may I urge you to respond to Paul's passionate challenge:

"That you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life… " (Philippians 2:15b-16a)

Are we really heard?

I listen to the rant from the Politicos, they speak as though they represent you and me. I here talk of the little guy having a voice, unfortunately it is not my voice. Is it your's ? Is your government speaking for you? Or are they spouting their own agenda?
Stevens had strongly dissented in that corporate-friendly campaign finance case, saying it did nothing less than threaten "to undermine the integrity of elected institutions around the nation." And Obama all but referenced the court ruling when he said from the Rose Garden on Friday that he is poised to choose a nominee who "like Justice Stevens, knows that in a democracy, powerful interests must not be allowed to drown out the voices of ordinary citizens.
I will agree that powerful interest groups should not be the deciding factor in the political climate, but at what time will my government start speaking for me? Is it not of the people, for the people? Where exactly then, did thee peoples voice become mute, to those in power? If we elect them, we are screwed. That should be the diadem of politicians. Maybe I should just stick to preaching the gospel and leave politics to the other assholes. It does me no good to voice an opinion that falls upon deaf ears. I can say what I want, but the politicians have their own agenda. Screw you, better for me!. The new political spiel. Gotta love those that speak for you and I.

God!

Colossians 1:16 (NASB)
16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him.

Philippians 2:5-11 (NASB)
5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,
6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,
7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.
8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
9 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name,
10 so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

John 20:26-29 (NASB)
26 After eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus *came, the doors having been shut, and stood in their midst and said, "Peace be with you."
27 Then He *said to Thomas, "Reach here with your finger, and see My hands; and reach here your hand and put it into My side; and do not be unbelieving, but believing."
28 Thomas answered and said to Him, "My Lord and my God!"
29 Jesus *said to him, "Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed."

Caliguticians

Hello, hello, is anybody in there?  Is there anyone at home? I tried to call you, but no one answered the phone. Try this maybe nod if you can here me. So let me see if I understand the whole scheme of the political climate. The House fought so hard to get passed  a landmark medical package, that no body with any common sense wanted. Immediately the President our esteemed socialist leader, signed making it law. Everybody with me. So Why then is the Senate now working on fixes to it. Should'nt that have all been taken care of before it was rammed down our throats with a big ol *#** eating grin, because they are so proud of themselves. Maybe I'm the only one that is having a hard time swallowing this pill. While I'm on the subject, can someone explain to me how taking money from Pel grants for low income students got worked into a health care bill? Can ya please explain that? Hey! You bloodsuckers Why don't you politicians stop suckin the life out of us, while there is still some left?

This monopoly called government

We the people, which people were they referring to when our constitution was written? The blue collar everyday, bust your ass America or the white collar elitist, monarchical group of slaveholders making the rules the rest of us must live by? Let's reason this for a moment, there was a time in the world when the king and his family lorded over his peasants. There was no outright laws, oh yes there were laws but if the king wanted something accomplished, who would stand in his way? The lands all belonged to the king, the money all belonged to the king, the people all belonged to the king. The typical peasant scraped by on whatever he could to keep his family fed and to hope for much more was ludicrous. I'm so glad I didn't live in those times, aren't you? Step forward now to the present. The government buys up business manufactures ways to control business and steps on whomever might want to stand in there way. Maybe the problem though is the simple fact that our government is deaf. Tone deaf to be more appropriate. Maybe it's just the average, everyday Joe Blow they can't hear. Maybe they are simply deaf to the cries of reason. Maybe they just don't give a damn what anybody else wants. The government moves, adjusts, positions like a  jujitsu black belt patiently waiting for that one general public mistake allowing them to slide around take our back and finally the great American dream is choked out by a monopoly called government.

No taxation without representation!

Why do you suppose the more the public objects to Obama care, the more we're told we want it. They speak of the undeniable need, we say no. They project evidences of how critical the subject is, we say no. So now they want to ram it down our throat. How does it make you feel to be treated, like a abused child whom doesn't want to eat the liver and onions Mommy cooked for dinner? The hardest part to swallow is the fact that after the dinner time flogging and force feeding, is you  get to have the same thing for breakfast. The cost of this unwanted proogram will put us in way beyond our potential to even dream of ever paying. What the Hell, just print out more paper. And to think, I thought President Bush spent to much, at least while he was spending money we don't have ,he gave us tax breaks. The problem with this even though the economy is still in a land slide, we can obviously afford to pick up a little more of the governmental gap.I thought that history was written by the winners. Imagine my surprise when I realized that reality is written by them too. I hope this comes back to bite them as hard as it's gonna bite us. Don't wworry though, your gonna be told just how happy you are to have this . Why can't they make it simple. Just give us the opportunity to be heard and then act upon our wishws. Somebody please take this muzzle off of me! I want to be hrard! I want to be free! FREEEEdom!!!!!!! God bless

Born anew

The blindness of societies gaze, sees only where broken morals lead. If truth then is not really true.how may I ask shall we escape from the judges rule? If hope is empty, we've lost the fight.Surrender; through pleasure to the minority few.
Though now I see, am no longer blind. I see temptation harness, to Hells long line and societies reason, leads an endless slide, of tribulation beyond compare,no hope in the future, just here, only now.Bankrupt morals seeking treasures luster, societal trends, call for no more than a tormented end and all eyes are closed to the answer, of how to make amends. Open awareness of lusting greed, no one stops to question, what we might really need. My hope for the tormented greedy without a clue, is that they seek after life and be born anew.

19 “This, then, is the judgment: The light has come into the world, and people loved darkness rather than the light because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone who practices wicked things hates the light and avoids it, so that his deeds may not be exposed. 21 But anyone who lives by the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be shown to be accomplished by God.”

John 3:19-21 (HCSB)

12 Then Jesus spoke to them again: “I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows Me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life.”[

John 8:12 (HCSB)

." 3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."

John 3:2-3 (NASB)
